ATTN: PIANO PLAYERS
So for several years now I’ve been wanting to teach myself piano and I’m actually going to do it this year. I already know how to read music on a staff. I was in choir so I have picked up on the basics of how to read the accompaniment/piano parts. And so basically I just want to know about yalls experiences, and where you think I should start.
I think my greatest challenge will be my hands. Getting them to do different rhythms at different times.
Do you have any advice?
Is piano a “do-able” instrument to learn on my own?

There are a ton of instructional videos on youtube. Practice as slow as you need to, but use a metronome. Seriously, use a metronome.

maybe not on an expert level. i taught myself to play a little bit but not much with my left hand and not fundamentally sound

It is “do-able” if you try really hard. I’ve quit my piano lessons a while ago and it’s hard to get back into on my own.
